Hunter College Community! Participate in an interactive workshop simulating a climate assembly. Think Model United Nations, but for participatory democracy!
This spring, the CUNY Climate Assembly Project on Waste (CCAP) is inviting Hunter College students, staff, and faculty to help develop solutions together.
Last month, 42 students were selected from more than 570 applicants to serve as Assembly Delegates representing the Hunter community. Their work will shape recommendations for improving campus waste practices.
The Model Assembly workshop is a condensed experience of what it is like to be a delegate in a Climate Assembly. Climate Assemblies are a civic-problem-solving process used around the world in which residents come together to learn with a diverse range of experts, collaborate through facilitated deliberations, and develop evidence-based solutions to a challenging issue.
Together, you will deliberate on “what should we prioritize to create more sustainable waste systems?” and “How can we think more deeply and strategically together as a university?”
If you haven’t already, please take the Campus Waste Survey!
