Mercedes Teixido works in the intersections of drawing, weaving and performance.

Her work is concerned with the quotidien and intimate experiences of individuals and cultural and personal consciousness as expressed thru form.

She attended Wake Forest University and completed her MFA at the University of Arizona. Mercedes currently teaches drawing and fiber arts at Pomona College.

She has also taught at the University of Maryland Baltimore County and the Instituto del Arte Superior in Asuncion, Paraguay. She currently lives in Claremont, California and Hamden, New York.
