A PhD Candidate in English at the Graduate Center, CUNY, John Rufo works through international revolutionary aesthetics as related to abolition, with particular attention to music, autobiography, poetry, and narrative across the Americas. John has taught at Hunter College and City College, in addition to serving as an editor and co-founder of the Poetry Project Newsletter Editorial Collective from 2017-2022.
