About the event

Join us for the book launch of Jumping into the American River: New and Selected Poems, Volume 1 by Mary Norbert Korte with readings and conversation from editors Iris Cushing and Jason Weiss and co-publisher Mary Catherine Kinniburgh.

Join us in the backyard of Unnamable Books in Brooklyn to celebrate the life and work of Mary Norbert Korte (1934-2022) poet, environmental activist, ex-nun and one of the most essential and heretofore-unrecognized writers of the last century, who lived for 50 years in the Mendocino woods among the redwoods until she died last November at 88. Books will be for sale, as well as free limited-edition broadsides honoring the poetry of Mary Norbert Korte. This book launch is free and open to all.
