Stacy Parker Le Melle
Stacy Parker Le Melle is the workshop director for the Afghan Women’s Writing Project, and served as an administrator and teaching artist for InsideOut Literary Arts Project, and as a teaching artist for Writers in the Schools. She served as special assistant to the Governor of the State of New York, as special assistant to the counselor to the President in the White House, and as a presidential advance person for international and domestic travel. She has also worked as a writer and researcher for Columbia University’s Office of Communications and Public Affairs. She is the author of the memoir Government Girl (Ecco/HarperCollins) and is the creator of The Katrina Experience, an oral history project. She has published nonfiction and commentary in Apogee Journal, Salon, and The Huffington Post. She holds a BA in Political Communication from The George Washington University.
