Campaign: Extreme Heat

Why are you excited to be part of this fellowship?

I’m excited to be part of this fellowship because I see it as an opportunity to connect my interest in finance and economics with meaningful social and environmental impact. I want to understand how data-driven decision-making, policy reform, and sustainable investing can be used to promote climate justice and equitable economic growth. Being surrounded by like-minded peers and mentors who are equally passionate about creating systemic change will help me expand my perspective and strengthen the skills I’ll need to contribute to long-term, sustainable solutions.

What climate justice issue is most important to you and why?

The climate justice issue that matters most to me is the unequal economic burden that low-income and minority communities face from environmental degradation. In many urban areas, including parts of Staten Island, these communities experience higher exposure to pollution and limited access to green infrastructure. I’m passionate about addressing this imbalance through better policy frameworks and investment strategies that prioritize environmental equity, create green jobs, and ensure that economic growth includes everyone, not just those with access to capital.
