Why are you excited to be part of this fellowship?
I’m excited to be part of this fellowship because it lets me connect my passion for social justice with climate action. I want to use my voice to represent students and communities that are often left out of these conversations, while also learning new skills that can make me a stronger leader. This fellowship gives me the chance to work with other CUNY students who care about the same issues, and together we can raise awareness, build networks, and push for a fairer future.
What climate justice issue is most important to you and why?
The climate justice issue most important to me is environmental inequality, especially how low income and minority communities are hit the hardest by pollution and lack of resources. Growing up in New York, I’ve seen how some neighborhoods have clean parks and better air while others deal with trash, flooding, and health problems. This matters to me because everyone deserves safe spaces, clean air, and a healthy future no matter where they live. I want to use this fellowship to learn how to fight for those communities and make sure their voices are heard.
