Ethel Nalule

Carrying out her studies on the unceded occupied traditional territory of the Lenape people, Ethel Kirabo Nalule is a doctoral student in the Clinical-Psychology Ph.D. Program at John Jay College of Criminal Justice/CUNY Graduate Center. Her current research aims to use photovoice to explore the psychological impacts of land dispossession in Black and Indigenous communities. Ethel has co-authored on multiple publications that can be found in BMC Public Health, the Journal of Pain and the Journal of Africana Studies. Outside of academia, she is an award- winning conceptual photographer, and published poet. Her artistic ventures explore concepts of grief, longing, community and resistance.
