Book talk & workshop with Mary Rizzo
author of Baltimore’s Black Arts Then
and Now: Behind the Scenes of a
Collaborative Public Humanities Project
Join us for discussion and hands-on exploration of the Chicory Revitalization Project, a public humanities initiative that has revived Baltimore’s historic grassroots Black poetry magazine Chicory. The project has created collaborative opportunities for former Chicory editors, scholars, librarians, poets, teachers, and young writers to use Chicory as a catalyst for intergenerational dialogue on social justice, race, and place.
Sponsored by the Archives and Public History program, NYU Department of History and the Public Scholarship Certificate Program, CUNY Graduate Center.
