Community Partners

With roughly 80% of CUNY students coming from New York City high schools, and 80% of CUNY graduates remaining in New York City to live, work, and lead in virtually all sectors of city governance and management, CUNY communities are NYC communities.

The Center for the Humanities aspires to serve intramural and extramural communities from every campus and every borough. Rigorous humanistic inquiry requires a multiperspectival approach to knowledge creation. Some of our community partners include individual organizers and community-based organizations; students, teachers, and administrators working in K-12; as well as artists, writers, performers, activists, new media content creators, tech specialists, ethicists, philosophers, engineers, hydrologists, biologists, neuroscientists, environmental historians, local electeds, and cultural workers of all stripes from every sector.
