About the event

Does our experience of the world stem from the firing of the neurons in our brains? Or from our interactions with our surroundings? In this lecture, Alva Noë, (Philosophy, The CUNY Graduate Center, CUNY) challenges the assumptions underlying both neuroscientific studies of consciousness and popular theories of perception. Maria Brincker (Postdoctoral Fellow at Columbia University) will serve as discussant.
