Valerie Tevere is a visual and sound artist whose projects investigate contemporary music, dissent, and public fora. She is a Mellon Resident Fellow at the Center for the Humanities at the Graduate Center and Associate Professor in the department of Media Culture at the College of Staten Island, CUNY. Her work has been exhibited internationally at MoMA and The New Museum, New York; Henie Onstad Art Center, Høvikodden, Norway; Manifesta 8, Murcia, Spain; Museo de Arte Raúl Anguiano, Guadalajara, Mexico; among others. Tevere’s recent fellowships include a Creative Capital fellowship, an Art Matters grant, an NEA project grant, and a Franklin Furnace Performance Art fellowship.
