Working across video, sculpture and installation, Tuấn Andrew Nguyễn's work examines political resistance through rituals, supernaturalism and the making of testimonial and devotion objects through the lens of the expatriate experience. Nguyễn’s videos and films have been shown at the 8th NHK Asian Film Festival, Tokyo; 18th Singapore International Film Festival, the 4th Bangkok Experimental Film Festival, and the 14th Sharjah Biennial. Since 2006, he has worked collaboratively with the Propeller Group, which he founded. The collective’s work has been featured in exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago; Venice Biennale; Prospect.3, New Orleans Triennial; and the New Museum Triennial, New York, among others. Nguyễn is also co-founder of Sàn Art, an artist-initiated exhibition space and educational program established in 2007 in Hồ Chí Minh City, Việt Nam. He currently lives and works in Hồ Chí Minh City.
