Suaro Luis Cervantes, whose parents co-founded Precita Eyes Muralists in San Francisco, has worked as a Store Manager, Lead Muralist, Mural Restorer, and project and event coordinator at Precita Eyes. He is responsible for restoring several community murals, as well as creating commercial murals in stores, restaurants, dance clubs, film sets, and office spaces. He has worked collaboratively with the Precita Eyes Urban Youth Arts workshop, which led several spray can art projects in the late 80’s through the 90’s. As an art activist Suaro has created many monumental conceptual installations on anti-war and police brutality themes. At the beginning of last year Suaro collaborated on San Francisco’s first bronze and ceramic hand painted tile mural that adorns the Bernal Heights Library. This last summer he designed and fabricated a stage prop for Michael Franti: Spearhead National tour. Most recently this past October he led a youth mural project in Colorado Springs at Community Prep School with several dozen students and community participants.
