Sharon Zukin is Professor Emeritus of Sociology at Brooklyn College and the CUNY Graduate Center. She has written a trilogy of books about urban changes in New York City: Loft Living (1982), The Cultures of Cities (1995) and Naked City: The Death and Life of Authentic Urban Places (2010). She also completed a collective book on the reshaping of local shopping streets in global cities. She won the C. Wright Mills Award for her book Landscapes of Power: From Detroit to Disney World.
