Dr. Sarah Ann Standing is an Assistant Professor of Theatre at New York City College of Technology (City Tech). Her work (scholarly and creative) explores the relationships between theatre / performance and ecology. She has published in Global Performance Studies (GPS); Readings in Performance and Ecology; PAJ; Theatre Topics; The Eugene O’Neill Review; American Theatre; Terra Nova; and Western European Stages. She was the Featured Guest Speaker for a Symposium on Performance, Politics and Climate Change at University of Pennsylvania, as well as a Faculty Fellow at the CUNY Graduate Center’s Center for Place, Culture and Politics. At City Tech, she has directed Victoria Lichterman’s play Fallen Sparrow, and also has created the Telling Our Stories series—a collaborative theatrical investigation into environment, heritage, and location. There have been five Telling Our Stories productions to date.
