Perig Pitrou is an anthropologist, research director at the CNRS. He directs the “Anthropology of life” team of the Laboratory of Social Anthropology, University of Sciences and Letters of the College de France/Paris, and various research programs (Domestication and manufacture of living things, Life at work, Imovie, etc.). Drawing on his ethnographic investigations in Amerindian societies in Mexico and in scientific laboratories, he has developed a comparative framework for analyzing the many biotechnologies that human societies have developed.
