Pauline Boudry & Renate Lorenz are Berlin-based artists whose works often revisit materials from the past, usually photographs or films, referring to and excavating unrepresented or illegible moments of queerness in history. These works show embodiments which are not only able to cross different times, but also to draw relations between them, thus revealing possibilities for queer futurity. Boudry and Lorenz’ work has been widely exhibited including most recently at the South London Gallery, Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers as part of the Triennale Paris, and the Swiss Pavilion of the Venice Biennale (2011). They have received numerous awards and residencies including Swiss Art Awards; Paris-Atelier Cité des Art, Canton de Vaud, FR, and Senat, Berlin, DE.
