Patricia Stapleton is an advanced Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at The Graduate Center CUNY. Her dissertation broadly examines the European Union’s regulation of agricultural biotechnology. More specifically she reviews the regulation of genetically modified crops and products in the context of food safety, public health, and risk regulation. Patricia holds an M.Phil in Political Science from The Graduate Center and an M.A. in French Literature from Rutgers University. She has merged her literary and political science research interests in her undergraduate course at Brooklyn College, Politics through Literature: A New World Order. The course analyzes dystopian and post-apocalyptic texts and films from a political theory perspective.
