Moira Meltzer-Cohen is an attorney working to support people’s struggles for social and economic justice. Her recent organizing work focuses on developing strategies to combat the ways in which poverty both predicts and exacerbates the impacts of mass incarceration on individual defendants, their families, and communities. She is a founding member of Just Info, a 24-hour hotline providing free legal information to New Yorkers. Ms. Meltzer-Cohen holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan, an M.S. in Critical Curriculum Theory and Education Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a J.D. from the CUNY School of Law in New York.
