Dr. Crystal Fleming, who received her PhD from Harvard University in 2011, currently teaches in the Sociology Department at Stony Brook University (SUNY).  Dr. Fleming possesses a wide range of research interests, ranging from critical race theory to memory politics, and has published numerous articles and studies, making her a top scholar in her field. In addition to winning several awards for her groundbreaking work, she has been invited to give numerous talks from prestigious American and French universities. Her most recent book, Resurrecting Slavery: Racial Legacies and White Supremacy in France (2017, Temple University Press), is a critical and historiographical analysis of race politics in France and Europe. Her next book,How to Be Less Stupid About Race: On Racism, White Supremacy and the Racial Divide, will be published by Beacon Press in 2018.
