Carol Smith is a retired faculty member of the Department of Special Programs, the City College of New York, and curator of the traveling exhibit “The Struggle for Free Speech at CCNY, 1931-42.” Her presentation is based on images from the exhibit, which can be viewed online at CUNY's Virtual New York website.
