Barbara McCrane’s career in the arts includes acting, singing, directing and teaching. As an actor, she has worked at the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Atlantic Theatre Company, Williamstown Theatre Festival and Pittsburgh Public Theatre. Additionally, she has experience with jingles (BILLIONS), voice over work (Stanford School of Medicine) and commercials (Ovaltine). She is a volunteer reader with Gatewave, a radio reading service for the blind. She has worked with the 52nd Street Project as an actor, director and teacher. Barbara is a certified Alexander Technique teacher whose practice focuses on performing artists. She teaches on faculty at the Manhattan School of Music. Other teaching credits include: Barnard College, Actors Studio Drama School, the President’s Own Marine Band, Juilliard Evening Division and Palaver Strings Ensemble. Barbara is a graduate of Hofstra University with a BA in literature and drama.
