With experience in the fields of education, archaeology, cultural heritages and contemporary art, Bùi Kim Đĩnh is active as a researcher, curator and advisor between Việt Nam and Germany. She holds an MA in Vietnamese Archaeology in Hà Nội and an MA in Management and Communication in Museums in Berlin. Since 2016, she has been working on her doctoral project at Georg-August University of Göttingen. Her anthropological research project is titled, “Independent art in Việt Nam since the 1990s: Political power for a civil society?” and examines the development of Vietnamese contemporary art initiated by non-state art practitioners in the post-Đổi Mới period, and its dynamics of social transformation.
