Lost & Found: the CUNY Poetics Document Initiative Series IX bridges disparate themes that, read together, explore what it means to live as a writer and offer mutual support while facing cultural erasure. Lost & Found Series IX includes correspondences between acclaimed writer Lucia Berlin and poets Edward Dorn and Jennifer Dunbar Dorn; interviews which trace the literary encounters of Iraqi poet Sargon Boulus, including a facsimile of his short-lived Bay Area poetry journal, Tigris, featuring a long poem by Boulus’ friend Etel Adnan; a selection of unpublished poetry and writings from the Tlingit artist Jim Schoppert alongside never before seen sketches and studies from his personal papers; and a selection of poems translated for the first ever English language collection by Haitian-Dominican poet and revolutionary fighter Jacques Viau Renaud.
Series IX includes the following publications:
- Jim Schoppert: What Price This Pound of Whale? and Other Unpublished Writings (Christopher Green, editor)
- “Let us hear about your progress”: Letters Between Lucia Berlin, Edward Dorn, & Jennifer Dunbar Dorn
