Workers Art Coalition
Jaime Lopez (Local 3 Electrician) and Barrie Cline co-founded the Workers Art Coalition in February 2014 and a core group of workers/artists and artists/workers (from beginners in the trades to veterans) have met weekly, shared skills and ideas to help realize each others ideas, and explored arts potential in movement building within the realm of labor. The works are in various stages of development, and shall continue to evolve. Currently the Workers Art Coalition is working on an initiative for the Peoples Climate March.
As part of the Seminar on Public Engagement and Collaborative Research, Worker’s Art Coalition participated in the public event, Gulf Labor and Precarious Workers Rights.
