Shravanthi Kanekal
Shravanthi Kanekal is an urban planner and researcher working to address social inequities and fight for climate justice. She is the Senior Resiliency Planner at the NYC Environmental Justice Alliance where she engages in state and city-wide coalitions that advance policy solutions to address climate and environmental justice issues. Her interests lie in collaborative civic engagement, the intersection of design and policy, and its effect on social equity within communities. Shravanthi’s professional experience spans across geographic scales in issues related to air pollution, green infrastructure, energy and water systems, informal housing, and climate mitigation and adaptation planning. Her prior work experience includes hazard mitigation planning, architectural design, and historic preservation. Shravanthi received a Masters of City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Architecture from R.V. College of Engineering.
