Sara Salman

Sara Salman is a PhD candidate in Sociology at the Graduate Center, and teaches Criminology and the Sociology of Violence at John Jay College, CUNY. Her dissertation is a comparative study examining citizenship in late modernity. She has conducted ethnographic research in Michigan and New York investigating displacement and government assistance programs. She has also written on war and genocide, political unrest in the Middle East, gender and crime, and the influence of existentialism and psychoanalysis on contemporary social theory. Her articles have appeared in Theoretical Criminology and Feminist Criminology.
