Sakina Laksimi Morrow
Sakina
Laksimi-Morrow is a fourth year Urban Education PhD candidate at the Graduate
Center working on a dissertation that examines how Doctoral students of color
engage in academic knowledge production, with a focus on both scholarship and
teaching. Sakina has taught for over five years at several universities in New
York, and currently works as a Fellow at the Teaching and Learning Center where
she primarily designs and facilitates workshops for new university
educators seeking pedagogical development. The workshops offer opportunities
for university educators to discuss teaching strategies, participate in
dialogue and build community and alliances with other educators who are
interested in resisting, confronting or disrupting a variety of problematic
social issues in their classrooms.
