Richard Schotter
Richard Schotter is the author of the plays Medicine Show, Benya the King, The Wood Dancer, Taking Stock, and The Sussman Variations, which have been produced in New York and in theatres across the US and Europe. He has received an Obie nomination, a CAPS grant, and the National Foundation for Jewish Culture’s Berman Playwriting Prize. His ten-minute musical, Duet for Shy People, has been widely performed, most recently at the Williamstown Theatre Festival. He has written a number of ten-minute plays and has been a lyricist for the PBS television series, The Puzzle Place. He is professor of English at Queens College where he runs the playwriting division of the MFA program in Creative Writing in conjunction with the Flea Theatre.
