Rafael Walker

Rafael Walker is assistant professor of English at Baruch College, City University of New York. A specialist in American and African American literature, he is completing two books—one on the American realist novel and the other on biraciality in American culture. Essays of his have appeared or will soon in a number of venues, such as Genre, Studies in the Novel, J19: The Journal of 19th-CenturyAmericanists, and Twentieth-Century Literature. His essay on Nella Larsen and biraciality, published in MELUS, won the 2016 Crompton-Noll Award for Best Article in LGBTQ Studies. Walker earned his Ph.D. in English at the University of Pennsylvania.
