Paulo Tavares
Architect, urbanist, and researcher Paulo Tavares’ work has been exhibited in Insert2014, New Delhi; Animism, Beirut (2013); and Taipei Biennial (2012). He teaches design studio and critical spatial theory at the School of Architecture, Design and Arts of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador. Between 2008 and 2012, Tavares taught at the Centre for Research Architecture, Goldsmiths, University of London. He previously held teaching posts at the Architecture and Spatial Design Department of the London Metropolitan University and the Visual Lab of the MA in Contemporary Art Theory, also at at Goldsmiths, University of London. He is a fellow Researcher at the project Forensic Architecture (2010-2014) and is currently completing a PhD on the violence of planning and the politics of ecology in Amazonia at the Centre for Research Architecture, Goldsmiths, University of London. Tavares is based in Quito/São Paulo.
