Mary Ann Caws

Mary Ann Caws is a Distinguished Professor Emerita and Resident Professor of English, French, and Comparative Literature at the Graduate Center, CUNY. She was named Officier des Palmes academiques and now Chevalier dans l’ordre des arts et lettres by French Government. She is a recipient of the Guggenheim, National Endowment for the Humanities, Getty, and Rockefeller fellowships, and was the past president of the Modern Language Association, the American Comparative Literature Association, the Association for the Study of Dada and Surrealism, the Academy of Literary Studies, and a fellow of the New York Institute for the Humanities and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
