Climate Justice Fellowship Lead
Maithreyi (Maithi) Rajeshkumar is the Public Engagement Strategist at the Center for Humanities and is also a MA Student at CUNY Graduate Center in the Women and Gender Studies Program. Maithreyi has worked and campaigned for over 15 years on gender equality, racial justice, incarceration and mental health. Working in numerous small grassroots organizations in the UK, she has a wide range of experience in strategy, policy, communications, campaigning, participatory research, youth engagement and fundraising. She also has been an Editor of a two-volume diary, Of Tamils and Tigers, A Journey Through Sri Lanka’s War Years, on the 30-year ethnic conflict in Sri Lanka. She is particularly interested in building power amongst people in communities who have been historically, politically, socially and economically marginalized, thinking creatively how to develop grassroots campaigns for ethical and radical policy and political change.
