​Lesley Farlow

Lesley Farlow performs as a dancer, actress and singer. She has worked with choreographers Douglas Dunn, Phyllis Lamhut, Moses Pendleton, Ann Carlson, Johanna Boyce, Marta Renzi, and director Ping Chong, among others.  Her own dance/theatre work has been produced in New York City, throughout the U.S., in Canada and in Europe. Acting credits include productions Off and Off-Off Broadway, as well as regional theatre.  Choreographic credits include The Alexander Plays (Public Theater), What Use Are Flowers (Westbeth Theater Center), Imperceptible Mutabilities of the Third Kingdom, Pilgrims of the Night, Pericles and Love’s Labors Lost (Yale Drama School), Madwoman of Chaillot, Ingmar Bergman’s Nora and Charles Mee Jr.’s Orestes (Williamstown Theatre Festival), Candide (CSC Repertory Theatre), Stephen Schwartz and John Caird’s Children of Eden (American premiere), Ring Round the Moon (Sanford Meisner Theatre).  Lesley has taught dance and improvisation all over the United States and movement for actors at CSC Repertory Theatre’s Conservatory in New York City, Yale School of Drama, the Williamstown Theater Festival, the Boston University Theater Institute and the National Theatre Institute at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center. In addition to her work as a choreographer and performer, she has worked as a dance historian and ran the Oral History Project at the Library for Performing Arts at Lincoln Center for nine years, where she started the internationally recognized AIDS Oral History Project. She co-wrote, with Daniel Lewis, The Illustrated Dance Technique of Jose Limon, published by Harper & Row. Lesley is an Associate Professor of Theatre and Dance faculty at Trinity. She is the choreographer for The First Generation Project, a movement/theater ensemble of young people from Haiti, Nepal, Sudan, Ethiopia, Burundi and Puerto Rico, based in Springfield, MA
