Kyra Sims

Kyra Sims is a writer, comedian, and musician residing in Brooklyn, NY. She is a member of the New York Neo-Futurists, where she writes, directs and performs experimental theatre works for New York’s longest-running Off Off Broadway show, Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind. She has been a contributing writer for Mashable.com, and for the Upright Citizens Brigade sketch show He Said She Said, which invited her back for their annual Best Of show. This year she produced the 2016 Upright Citizens Brigade Teen Improv Festival, which was hosted by SNL’s Sasheer Zamata. She has performed stand up comedy at the Greenwich Village Comedy Club, and the Chicago Women’s Funny Festival. Kyra made her composing debut in 2015 as the Composer/Sound Designer for the New York Neo-Futurists’ Mainstage production The Human Symphony, which received positive reviews. She was nominated for a 2015 New York Innovative Theater Award for her work on this production. As a musician, she has backed notable artists such as Frank Ocean, Blood Orange, and Zola Jesus, and has made television appearances on Mozart in the Jungle and VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live.
