Karina Torres | City College

Major: International Studies with a concentration in International Relations.

Karina Torres, a Dominican immigrant who grew up in a small corner of Brooklyn coined with the name of Red Hook, is a senior at the City College of New York majoring in International Studies with a concentration in International Relations. She recently spent a semester in Washington DC, interning at the US House of Representatives for Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez, also known as AOC, and had an epiphany about where she really wants to go with her career— and that is to work on climate mitigation strategies or the social impacts in Latin American countries. She is super excited to dive into the grievances that have been caused by climate and what we can do to help here at our home base. She is also very excited to work with all of you and find some solutions to this issue we’re all so passionate about.
