Ju Ly Ban is a Ph.D. student in the English Program at the CUNY Graduate Center and teaches composition at Baruch College. Her research explores the intersections of Black feminism, queer kinship, and translation. On an archival journey tracing Korean American artist Theresa Hak Kyung Cha across Hawaii, New York, and Korea, she engages the legacies of Black feminist thinkers like bell hooks and Audre Lorde, imagining new ways to hold and sustain histories across time and place.
