Isabelle Utzinger-Son

Isabelle Utzinger-Son is a Swiss-Korean independent writer and researcher based in London, UK. Her work explores the role of the voice beyond the confines of Western logocentrism, particularly how voice in ritual practices can shift postcolonial discourses on identity from language-based frameworks to embodied approaches. Currently, she is writing about the work of Theresa Hak Kyung Cha, examining the intersections of voice, performance, and how her art evokes proximity and distance beyond linguistic terms. Her research often intersects with personal reflections, thinking and writing about her parents in relation to these themes.
