Delores Jones-Brown

Delores Jones-Brown is a professor in the Department of Law, Police Science and Criminal Justice Administration at John Jay College and a member of the CUNY doctoral faculty. She is the founding director of the John Jay College Center on Race, Crime and Justice and currently serves as its faculty research fellow. She is the lead author on Stop, Question and Frisk Policing Practices in New York City: A Primer, which was released by the Center on Race, Crime and Justice in March of 2010. Additionally, she is the author or co-editor of three books and numerous academic articles, book chapters, reports and legal commentaries that address policing and other law and justice related topics. Her book, Race, Crime, and Punishment won a New York Public Library award in 2001. She is the 2008 recipient of the William Bracey Award from the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives; the 2006 recipient of the Becky Tatum Excellence Award from the Minority and Women’s Section of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences; and the 2012 W.E.B. DuBois awardee from the Western Society of Criminology.
