Claire Gilman
Prior to becoming Curator at The Drawing Center, Claire Gilman taught art history and critical theory at Columbia University, The Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College, and The Corcoran College for Art and Design. She has served as a curatorial fellow at MoMA, where she worked on Edvard Munch: The Modern Life of the Soul, and Greater New York: 2005. Gilman co-curated The Storyteller, an exhibition organized by iCI that traveled internationally from 2009-2010, and was responsible for Arte Povera: Selections from the Sonnabend Collection, on view at Columbia University’s Wallach Art Gallery in 2001. She has also written extensively for publications including Art Journal, CAA Reviews, Documents, Frieze, and October.
