​Catherine Seavitt Nordenson

Catherine Seavitt Nordenson, ASLA, AIA  is an associate professor of landscape architecture at the City College of New York and principal of Catherine Seavitt Studio. Her research explores design adaptation to sea level rise in urban coastal environments and examines novel landscape restoration practices addressing climate change. With Denise Hoffman Brandt, she co-edited the book Waterproofing New York (UR Books, 2016). Her co-authored book On the Water: Palisade Bay (Hatje Cantz, 2010) was the foundation of the exhibition “Rising Currents” at the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Her forthcoming book Structures of Coastal Resilience (Island Press, 2018) includes her resiliency proposals for New York City’s Jamaica Bay.
