Anne Carson
Anne Carson, who calls herself a visual rather than a verbal artist is Professor Classics, poet, essayist, and translator. She has published 20 books, many of which blend genres and media. Her first book, Eros the Bittersweet, was named one of the 100 best nonfiction books of all time by the Modern Library. She is also the author of Nox, Antigonick, The Beauty of the Husband, Autogbiography of Red and its sequel Red Doc>. A recipient of several awards, including the Griffin Poetry Prize, T.S. Eliot Prize, the PEN Award for Poetry in Translation, the Lannan Literary Award, and the Puschcart Prize, Carson gives the keynote of the Visualizing Theory Conference.
