Angela Zhou is excited to be working with and for a neighborhood that she grew up in, Sunset Park, on a myriad of issues that she found to be annoying as a child, and unjust as an adult. Through this internship, she looks forward to building upon her career as an activist where she seeks to address her community’s needs through an environmental and spatial justice lens. Her role with UPROSE will focus on identifying air pollution hotspots in Sunset Park, transportation justice, and community-centered peak electricity demand management solutions. A student of urban sustainability, her capstone project focuses on NYC’s Living Shorelines. In her free time, Angela enjoys making stuff with her hands, gardening, singing karaoke, playing board games, and reading fantasy novels.
