Alice J. Walkiewicz
Alice J. Walkiewicz is a Doctoral Candidate in Art History at the CUNY Graduate Center focusing on 19th-century European and American Art. Her dissertation examines the representation of the working-class seamstress in late-19th century Britain, France and the United States, exploring this intersection of art and female labor within the context of the emergent labor movement. She has worked at the Dahesh Museum of Art in New York and has taught art history courses at several New York City institutions, including Parsons The New School for Design, Pratt Institute, and Pace University. Her research has been funded through the Marian Goodman Travel Fellowship, the Catherine Hoover Voorsanger Fellowship in Art History, and the Early Research Initiative at the CUNY Graduate Center along with Mellon Research Grants through Pratt Institute.
