Translational Aesthetics: Patterns of Interference
Fri, Jan 30, 2015
4:00 PM
English Department Lounge (Room 4406)
Roger Fry famously invited his painter friends to “translate” a work of visual art into a work of verbal art, or into another work of visual art. Join four illustrious scholars, writers, and critics, as they speak about the ways in which translation can be expanded from a verbal affair, and explore their own perspectives on the problems of and delights of translation writ large.
Cosponsored by the PhD Program in English.
