Join NYPL for Doc Chat Episode 16: “Teaching the #Syllabus” featuring the Schomburg Center’s Zakiya Collierand our Mellon Seminar Faculty Leader Dr. Yarimar Bonilla of The Puerto Rico Syllabus project and Professor of Africana, Puerto Rican and Latino Studies at Hunter College and Anthropology at The Graduate Center, CUNY who will explore the Schomburg’s #Syllabi web archive collection and the Puerto Rico Syllabus / #PRSyllabus, and discuss erasure and underrepresentation in academia, digital protest, and ways of deploying Hashtag Syllabi in the classroom.
Doc Chat is a program series that digs deep into the stories behind
the New York Public Library’s most interesting collections and highlights ways that
teachers can incorporate them into the classroom.
Educators, scholars, students, and all primary source lovers are welcome to join this lively conversation. Each 30-minute episode takes place online.
