Women Writing Women’s Lives and The Center for the Study of Women and Society present the Dorothy O. Helly Works-in-Progress Lecture from author, Sydney Ladensohn Stern, who will discuss her in-progress biography of Irene Mayer Selznick, the legendary Hollywood figure turned Broadway producer.
This event is free and open to the public and will be held in person on Monday, March 18th at 4:00 PM in the Skylight Room (9100) of the CUNY Graduate Center, 365 Fifth Avenue. No registration necessary.
Sydney Ladensohn Stern is the author of Toyland: The High-Stakes Game of Toy Industry and Gloria Steinem: Her Passions, Politics, and Mystique. Stern’s latest book, The Brothers Mankiewicz: Hope, Heartbreak and Hollywood Classics was noted by the Wall Street Journal as a “model biography” and film critic Molly Haskell called it a “fascinating dual portrait.”
