A new tendency to include photographic illustrations in literary fiction prompts important questions about the cultural politics of literary and artistic spaces, whether on the printed page or the portable screen. Join Rachel Kushner, the author of two critically acclaimed novels, Telex from Cuba (2008) and The Flamethrowers (2013), as she addresses these topics in conversation with Charity Scribner, Andrew W. Mellon Resident Fellow at the Center for the Humanities. The conversation will be complemented by a screening of Kushner’s recent portfolio project for The Paris Review.
