2:00 PM–4:00 PM

Queens Museum, Corona, NY 11368

The promotion of linguistic diversity and expressive plurality is a hallmark of public justice, especially in New York, the city that never speaks one and the same language. This “Queens English” poetry/prose/performance at Queens Museum (the sequel to the November 30th event “QueensEnglishToday.mp3” at the Graduate Center, CUNY) explores and enacts the world of dynamic Englishing and languaging, and its polyphonic futurity.

Readers and performers include: Bruce Andrews, Daisy Atterbury, Lee Ann Brown, Chia-Lun Chang, Cosmic Myth Fits/Corona (Patricia Clough, Elizabeth Garcia, Yeong Ran Kim, Omar Montana, Mac Morris, Jansiel Polanco, Elijah Kuan Wong), Kyoo Lee, Paolo Javier, Scott Kapuscinski, Maria Lisella, Multilingual Collab (and Laynie Browne, Patricio Ferrari), Ariana Reines, St. John’s Queens (Dohra Ahmad, Steven Alvarez, Jeremy Ashton, Samuel Chang, Raquel Corona, Dannie Rouse, Angy Velazquez).

Free and open to the public. This event takes place at the Queens Museum, Corona, NY, 11368.

Co-sponsored by the Queens Museum; mp3: Poetry, Philosophy, Performativity Seminar on Public Engagement and Collaborative Research; Department of English, St. John’s University.
